Welcome to the website of Gunpowder Friends Meeting where you'll find information about our Meeting and about Quakerism. You are also welcome to visit with us to experience Quaker Meeting. Quakers, also known as Friends, believe that the Divine is accessible within each and every person. Friends from the beginning have used various names for the Divine, including God, Spirit, Christ Within, Still Small Voice, and Inner Light. Regardless of the name, this is the ultimate source of truth and peace that many are seeking in today’s confusing and hectic world.

Gunpowder Friends Meeting is a Quaker community with members who hail from a variety of life experiences and spiritual backgrounds. Most of us live in the Greater Baltimore and southern Pennsylvania regions. The spiritual depth of our Meeting has created a nurturing community that welcomes people of all ethnicities, religious backgrounds, races, sexual orientations, and gender preferences. The views from our hillside, overlooking Maryland farmland, help to cultivate our shared spiritual life. We hope you’ll visit us soon!
